| Pretty soon the baby Carolina wrens will be leaving the nest. And we surely will experience the "empty nest syndrome". They have been loudly proclaiming their presence. And they have been joining us in our prayers - loudly praising the Lord! The Carolina wren is so tiny and cute - but it can surely bellow loudly! It sounds like a might roar in our convent yard. Its loud persistent twitter intimidates the other birds and causes them to hurry away. It's entertaining. Is not God's creation a love song? He calls into being, and earth responds. He says, "Let there be new baby wrens - and forth they come." Since they are only inches away from our door, we have had the joy of seeing mama and papa hopping around with food in their mouth - anxious to feed them at the proper times of day. Our Heavenly Father also feeds us with His heavenly food. Bread of the Finest Wheat! And He feeds us with His Word - bringing new life to the soul in surprising ways. Our Father in heaven always watches over us, and knows the proper time to send the necessary graces. He is truly our loving and generous Provider, taking care of us through His Divine Providence. |
