        TO ADORE OUR LORD!

The Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate seek daily to draw closer to Our Lord.  Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament is fundamental to Our spiritual life as we seek to conform our hearts unto His.  Additionally, praying the Liturgy of the Hours, the rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Sorrows, we place ourselves in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, asking Her to bring us closer to Her Son.

Holy Father Francis asks us to knock at "Mary's Door"

Holy Father Francis in his Homily during Mass at the Shrine of Aparecida, Brazil teaches us to go to our Blessed Mother to enter into deeper union with Jesus:  "When the Church looks for Jesus, she always knocks at his Mother’s door and asks: "Show us Jesus".  Our Lady's intimate union with Jesus casued her to be the first missionary, when she brought Jesus to her cousin Elizabeth.
This has been the constant teaching of the Church as indicated by the motto of Bl. John Paul II:  "To Jesus, through Mary".  St. Maximilian Kolbe believed that the most effective means of conversion is through Mary. His great hope was that the missionary, evangelization and conversion apostolate of the Catholic Church would be placed into the hands of Mary.  This is exactly what Holy Father Francis has been doing.   St. Maximilian stressed: "we need Mary for the conversion of sinners, for the bringing of tepid souls to sanctity, for bringing the millions of non-Christians to Christ."
He saw the means to be used for converting sinners to a life of grace as:  "First, we will be as effective evangelizers as we are personally devoted to Our Lady. We must promote our missionary and conversion zeal through promoting the knowledge, love and devotion to the Mother of God. Mary will do wonders, provided we use her name and her influence to effect what is so desperately needed in the modern world."

Catholic Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School has been a great blessing.  One of the most important things we can do is pass on the faith to the children - the hope of the future.  Teaching about different stories in the Bible in a fun setting helps instill these lessons in the minds and hearts of these great students.  They are eager to learn and interested to find out what the next adventure.  In Bible Adventure Drama - Day One is all about King David and Psalm 23, the Good Shepherd.  Day Two is about Queen Esther and how she saved the people by interceding for them with the King.  Day Three is about Nehemia who helped build the ruined wall of Jerusalem.  Day Four is about the death and resurrection of Our Lord.  And the last day is about King Josiah, who became king at the age of eight and helped to rebuild the temple.  Even though he came from a line of bad kings, he wanted to be like good King David.
The children learn to turn to God in prayer when they need to stand strong, when they are afraid or when they need help.  They learn that God is always with them and that they can always trust God.
We pray that these lessons will bless them and bring them close to Jesus so that one day, we will all meet again in heaven, to be happy forever with our Heavenly Father.

Here He comes - sneaking in....  Will the two welcome him???

On Friendship from St. Frances de Sales:
True friendship is Precious because it comes from God, because it tends to God, because God is the link that binds you, because it will last for ever in Him. Truly it is a blessed thing to love on earth as we hope to love in Heaven, and to begin that friendship here which is to endure for ever there. I am not now speaking of simple charity, a love due to all mankind, but of that spiritual friendship which binds souls together, leading them to share devotions and spiritual interests, so as to have but one mind between them.

Thanks to our friend who made the Corpus Christi Canopy.  He gave us a fascinating tour of Natick Labs where they research and design for our soldiers who are put in harm's way to protect our country, our freedom.

May All Christians Fight for the Kingdom of Christ through Our Immaculate Mother:
ST. MAXIMILIAN KOBLE:  While still a student friar, not yet a priest, St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, OFM CONV., founded the Militia of the Immaculata on October 16, 1917 in Rome, Italy. The MI today continues to follow the original charter he gave to it then. The Original Charter of the MI "She shall crush your head" (Gn 3:15). "You alone (Mary) have crushed all heresies in the whole world" (former Office of the BVM). "Modern times are dominated by Satan and will be more so in the future. The conflict with hell cannot be engaged by men, even the most clever. The lmmaculata alone has from God the promise of victory over Satan. However, assumed into heaven, the Mother of God now requires our cooperation. She seeks souls who will consecrate themselves entirely to her, who will become in her hands effective instruments for the defeat of Satan and the spreading of God's kingdom upon earth."
