Totally Catholic VBS is always an adventure - this year the theme was weird animals. As we run the drama session, we always wonder which bible stories will be told. The Crucifixion, death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus is usually depicted, but other Old Testament and New Testament stories vary. The children are wonderful and they all look forward to the Bible adventures session - and so do we! Deo Gratias!
Ave Maria!
The Feast day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was a very special day for our church, St. Brendan's in Bellingham, MA. As a parish community, a group of us were blessed to consecrate ourselves to Her on the feast day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, June 28, 2014. We met together for six weeks and we watched a video on Marian Consecration by Fr. Michael Gately, MIC. The video incorporated the teachings of St. John Paul II, Mother Theresa, St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Louis de Montfort - updating the consecration with additional profound words of wisdom by the aforesaid saints. Consecration to Our Lady helps us to be more devoted to the Lord and His Blessed Mother. It helps us grow in holiness and increase our faith, hope, and love. Highly recommended by the saints, it is a prayerful and focused method of drawing closer to Jesus, with Mary so that we, too, can become saints! Under The Our Holy Mother's Mantle, we hope to become great saints, witnesses of Christian hope and love so that we can draw others to the love Jesus and Mary. Our world is thirsting for this love - for only God can fill their souls with the Living Water of His Love. |

TO ADORE OUR LORD!
The Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate seek daily to draw closer to Our Lord. Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament is fundamental to Our spiritual life as we seek to conform our hearts unto His. Additionally, praying the Liturgy of the Hours, the rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Sorrows, we place ourselves in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, asking Her to bring us closer to Her Son.
