St. Maximilian Kolbe went to “ extremes" (some thought very extreme) to make Our Lady known and loved. A great Marian Saint who loved and pondered Our Lady his whole life, he wanted his friars to do the same. So we are following this maxim. Who would have ever imagined it would entail making “ Mary masks?!?"
Though the current controversy of mask requirements is causing quite a stir, Our Lady is using this means, as an outward sign, to show that she is indeed with us and protecting us. Not only is it a chance to witness to her, it's also an opportunity to evangelize. If we have to wear a mask, it might as well be a “ Mary Mask"! On this Feast day of the Miraculous Medal, let us pray - “ Oh Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us!" And cover us with your pure and protective mantle.
