St. Francis was particularly fond of birds - even preaching to them. And since we are The Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate, we can't neglect our furry friends. As the saying goes, "Neither rain nor blizzard!?" ~ we had to fill the window bird feeders. It was amazing the flurry of birdies that came to our feeder during the storm. It was similar to New York City at rush hour! We were happy they found a fine restaurant to satisfy their delicate palates. Deo Gratias!
Traveling to DC to join hundreds of thousands of other pro-lifers is an exhilarating and inspiring experience. If you have not yet made the trek, we highly recommend it. The vast majority of those participating in the march are youth, the future of our country. They are enthusiastic, happy and embrace the cause for life with an infectious joy. The power of grace is visibly manifested in all the pro-lifers as they become "one body in Christ". One young girl told us that she felt alone in her pro-life views where she attends school. But when she arrived at the March and witnessed the vast amount of young people, she felt such a bond and unity with them and was so uplifted and motivated. Indeed, we shall overcome the culture of death, because it will die. The Mother of Life is indeed preparing for the victory, as Her Militia battles on. Fear not - we are on the winning side! We are on the side of Life - on the side of Our Creator, our Savior who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
It is written in Deuteronomy 30: 19-20, "I call heaven and earth to witness this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose therefore life, that both thou and thy seed may live: And that thou mayst love the Lord thy God, and obey his voice, and adhere to him (for he is thy life, and the length of thy days,)…" |

TO ADORE OUR LORD!
The Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate seek daily to draw closer to Our Lord. Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament is fundamental to Our spiritual life as we seek to conform our hearts unto His. Additionally, praying the Liturgy of the Hours, the rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Sorrows, we place ourselves in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, asking Her to bring us closer to Her Son.
