We are pleased to share you the joy of serving the Lord in our religious life, our apostolate, our mission and even in our life of prayer. "It is a joy that is a fruit of our intimate encounter with Jesus through our life of faith" (cf. Homily of Pope Benedict XVI, for the Year of Faith).

“Behold the handmaid of the Lord"

What does our name "Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate" mean? It all goes back to the very first event of the Annunciation when the Archangel Gabriel announced the coming birth of the Redeemer to Our Blessed Mother. It was the very root of every evangelization and mission. It was the source whereby we draw our essence as religious community; that mystery enters into the very inner structure of who we are. The essential constituent of that vocation, if it is to be effective is found in a continuous act of faith like Mary in being Mother of Jesus and Mother of souls.

Called from worship into Service
In your great name we go,
To the child, the youth, the aged,
Love in living deeds to show.
Hope and health, goodwill and
comfort,
Counsel, aid and peace we give,
That your children Lord,
May your mercy know and live.

Fr. Ho Lung with the sisters

Here we are with Fr. Richard Ho Lung, founder of the Missionaries of the Poor who help the destitute in Jamaica and several other countries. We met him at the "Praise Him Concert" which was held at La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, MA. The proceeds from the concert benefited women's shelters and the Woman's Crisis Center in Kingston, Jamaica. It was a pro-life concert and all the songs were written by Fr. Ho Lung. Fr. Richard, a humble priest, radiated joy, warmth and kindness and is the Mother Theresa of Jamaica.

One of the Missionaries of the Poor, Fr. Charles (born in India) came to our parish, St. Brendan's, and spoke at all the Masses, sharing about the work of the Missionaries of the Poor among the poor and destitute of Jamaica. His homily was very moving and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him and receive his blessing.

FHI goes to Catholic Marketing Network Trade show

The Catholic Marketing Network (CMN) is an organization whose purpose is to encourage the most effective production and distribution of Catholic literature, music, gifts, and other products and services consistent with the teachings of the Holy Roman Catholic Church
This year's Trade show was held in Arlington, Texas in Arlington Convention Center. The Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate (FHI) who is already involved in online distribution of Academy Books participated together with couple of Friars of the Immaculate last August 27-29.

Tribute to our Blessed Mother on Mother's Day.

A beautiful day to Honor Our Lady on Mother's Day. Each of the girls were representing different Marian Apparitions. We thank Our Holy Mother for manifesting herself in so many places with so many miracles and always being close to us - in joy and in sorrow.
