        TO ADORE OUR LORD!

The Franciscan Handmaids of the Immaculate seek daily to draw closer to Our Lord.  Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament is fundamental to Our spiritual life as we seek to conform our hearts unto His.  Additionally, praying the Liturgy of the Hours, the rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Sorrows, we place ourselves in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, asking Her to bring us closer to Her Son.

Praise be Jesus Christ!   Now and Forever!
The great Solemnity of Corpus Christi arrived and the Procession at St. Brendan's Church in Bellingham, MA was glorious, spectacular - in a word, simply heavenly.  There were ten First Communicants, eleven Knights of Columbus, about sixteen altar boys, a Latin youth choir and a full church. The Knights of Columbus, dressed in their fine regalia, gallantly led the procession with reverent decorum.  The First Communion girls, lined up ahead of the Blessed Sacrament, strewed wind-swept flower petals as they sweetly processed and the First Communion boys held placards with holy sayings.  The Latin Youth Choir chanted songs of praise with the parishioners joining in as the Procession moved along.  The gusty winds on the hot summer day manifested the wondrous Love of the Holy Spirit, attesting to all the celestial angels who were accompanying us on our Eucharistic cortege.  The altar boys were especially attentive as they obviously recognized the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.  And Most Magnificently, Father processed with His Majesty in the Blessed Sacrament, King of the Universe:  "Laud, O Zion, your salvation, Laud with Hymns of exultation, Christ your King and Shepherd true:  Bring Him all the praise you know ... Here the new law's new oblation, By the new King's revelation, ends the form of ancient rite."    The new gold canopy, sparkling in the brilliant sunlight, was held by two fathers and their sons, wearing the gold vests that were sewn specially for Corpus Christi.  So many parishioners were involved in making this a wonderful celebration - from planning, cutting, sewing, trimming - indeed, the Body of Christ working for The glory of God, for the King of Heaven and Earth, Our Lord Jesus Christ.  We praise and thank God for all His help and blessings and graces.  Most of All, we thank Him, with Our Lady, For His Real Presence in The Most Holy Eucharist.
